Smolenskenergo fulfills the plan of 2019 for clearing routes of power lines

IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division performs systematic work to clear routes of overhead power lines from tree and shrub vegetation. For 4 months of 2019, 444.57 hectares of routes along 0.4–110 kV lines were cleared. A large amount of work was carried out in Dukhovschinsky and Pochinkovsky districts of the Smolensk region. The main volume of clearing falls, as a rule, in July, August and September, so most of the work is still ahead.

Until the end of 2019, the branch’s employees plan to clear 2,501.26 hectares of shrub and woody overgrowths, which is 958.92 hectares (62%) more than in 2018. 71.954 million rubles are planned for these purposes.

The work on clearing routes along overhead lines is a mandatory direction of the production program. The implementation of measures for clearing routes along overhead lines significantly reduces the risk of outages due to the fall of trees and branches on the power line, thereby ensuring reliable power supply to consumers. This work is carried out annually in preparation for the winter and in order to improve the reliability of electric grids. All measures for clearing the routes and expanding them along power lines are carried out in strict accordance with regulatory rules and legal requirements.
