A large group of schoolchildren had a tour of the branch “Kurskenergo”

Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division conducted a tour for pupils of the 4th grade of Secondary School No. 60 of the city of Kursk. 30 children visited the Museum of the History of Energy of the Kursk Region and the Grid Control Centre (GCC) of the branch.

Employees of Kurskenergo told the schoolchildren about the role of the electric power industry in people’s lives, methods of producing and transmitting electricity, the development of the power system of the Kursk region - from the appearance of the first power station to the present day, about the people who created and ensured the development of the power system.

In the GCC of Kurskenergo, the children saw how the regional power complex is displayed online on the video wall, how video surveillance of substations and the route of vehicles of mobile crews is carried out.

During the event, the power engineers reminded the pupils of the precautionary measures near power facilities, explained the procedure if there was a sagging or broken wire on the way. They handed over thematic brochures and posters to the children, showed videos warning of the danger that adults and children are exposed to if they fish, have picnics or try to take a selfie near power lines.

“Children like such tours,” noted Olga Strelkova, a teacher-psychologist at Secondary School No. 60 in the city of Kursk. “At such events, every child gets a lot of useful and interesting information that will come in handy in life.”
