13.05.2019

Employees of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division took an active part in the events dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

On the eve of Victory Day, employees of Kurskenergo and veterans of the company laid flowers at the Eternal Flame at the Memorial complex “In Memory of the Fallen in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945” in Kursk. And on 9 May, within the framework of the All-Russian rally “Immortal Regiment”, the power engineers in one line, along with tens of thousands of residents of the Kursk region, carried portraits of their relatives - front-line soldiers through the streets of the regional centre.

On 8 May, the leadership, the trade union committee and the Council of veterans of Kurskenergo organized a trip for a large group of veterans of the enterprise and employees of the branch who participated in hostilities at places of military glory. The trip participants visited the memorial complex “Kursk Bulge” in Pristensky district, where they laid flowers at the monument to General of the Army, Commander of the Voronezh Front Nikolay Vatutin, and also visited the Museum “Command Post of the Voronezh Front” in the settlement of Kirovsky.

And on 11 May, members of the Youth Council of Kurskenergo, together with representatives of other youth organizations of the regional centre, took part in the annual bike ride dedicated to Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which traditionally takes place along the route: Kursk-Kurchatov-Kursk. During short stops, the participants of the bike ride laid flowers on the graves of those who fell during the war, and after the finish they became participants in the rally, at which veterans of Kurchatov spoke.

“Taking care of veterans, educating the younger generation of power engineers using examples of courage and heroism has become a good tradition for Kurskenergo’s team. It is our duty to those who saved the world from fascism, and after the war restored the destroyed national economy of the country and its most important industry, energy,” stressed Alexander Rudnevsky, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division director.
