Schoolchildren of the Kostroma region pass “safety routes”

Employees of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division together with representatives of regional departments of the EMERCOM of Russia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, employees of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels of the EMERCOM of Russia (GIMS), the regional branch of the All-Russian Voluntary Fire Association (VDPO) and fire departments continue in 2019 conducting route games on the topic of safety for children during the summer holidays. The games started in April. On the eve there was an event in Lyceum number 17 of the city of Kostroma, which was attended by about 230 children of grades 5 - 7.

Having divided into squads, the participants of the games passed along routes consisting of six thematic stations: “Electrical Safety”, “Fire Safety”, “Water Safety”, “Fire Engine”, “Lifeguards” and “Healthy Lifestyle”. Here they were met by representatives of relevant organizations and departments, who told how to behave in an emergency.

At the “Electrical Safety” station, specialists of the production control and labour protection department of Kostromaenergo acquainted the children with the rules of conduct near existing electrical installations, warned them about the danger posed by electrical current, showed warning signs and posters. At the other stations, representatives of the EMERCOM, VDPO, GIMS and the Ministry of Internal Affairs taught them to use fire extinguishers correctly, call the fire crew by phone 01 or 112, told the children about the rules of behaviour on the water, how to avoid panic during emergencies, etc. At the end of the route games the young people from Kostroma were shown uniforms and special equipment of firefighters.
