Kurskenergo’s exposition was one of the best at the exhibition “Education. Science. Career”

IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division received the Letter of Gratitude from organizers of the X regional exhibition “Education. Science. Career” and the first regional festival of professions “PROFI-fest”.

The event took place in the “Manezh” shopping centre in the city of Kursk on 25 April. It was organized by the administration of the Kursk region with the participation of professional educational organizations in order to facilitate the vocational guidance of graduates of educational institutions, to inform young people about educational opportunities and employment in the region.

The exhibition was attended by eight higher educational institutions, 20 vocational education organizations and 34 enterprises of the Kursk region.

Kurskenergo presented to the attention of visitors detailed information about services provided to residents of the region. The central part of the branch’s exposition was occupied by the booth “Implementation of digital transformation projects in Kurskenergo” with a description of each project, elements of the digital grid and effects of their implementation.

In addition, the exposition included modern devices that have been used in the regional power grid complex for a long time, such as an intelligent electric meter that takes energy resources into account, allows monitoring the quality of power supply, a thermal imager capable of conducting thermal imaging of high-voltage equipment and overhead lines under operating voltage, an unmanned aerial vehicle with the help of which power engineers conduct an inspection of an overhead line.

Kurskenergo’s specialists provided advice on energy supply issues, told guests and exhibitors about employment opportunities, career growth in the enterprise, and social guarantees provided for by the collective agreement of the company.

Schoolchildren and students learned that the main person in power engineering is an electrician, he fixes faults in the event of a failure, ensures the safety of people. And the electrician himself is protected by a special uniform and devices with which he determines the presence or absence of voltage in the grid.

The guys not only got acquainted with the branch’s exposition materials, but also tried on a protective helmet, dielectric gloves and boots with pleasure.

“The issue of choosing a profession is one of the most important in the life of young people,” said Lyudmila Mokrousova, the head of the human resources department at Kurskenergo. “We have tried to acquaint the exhibition participants with a truly creative and noble profession - the power engineer. It is in demand, has become a vocation for many thousands and ensures the well-being of the one who chooses it in the family.”
