More than 100 schoolchildren and students visited Kostromaenergo in the framework of the action “A week without turnstiles”

Students of the Kostroma Power Engineering School named after F.V. Chizhov and high school students of the city of Kostroma visited the Kostroma branch of IDGC of Centre. The event was organized by power engineers in the framework of the All-Russian campaign “A week without turnstiles”, which is aimed at promoting engineering and working professions among students and young people. It was attended by more than 100 college students and schoolchildren of 8-11 grades.

In the Museum of the History of the Kostroma Energy System, the young people were told about the formation and development of the regional power grid complex and the main activities of the branch “Kostromaenergo”. They were also introduced to the structure of IDGC of Centre and ROSSETI. At Kostromaenergo’s Grid Control Centre (GCC), the students were shown modern equipment, with the help of which operating staff monitors the operation of power facilities in real time and receives data necessary for quick decision making in emergency situations.

On the interactive platform “Rational and safe use of energy resources”, the engineer of the office of energy saving and energy efficiency of the branch “Kostromaenergo”, Andrey Smirnov, told the students about modern energy-saving technologies and gave advice on the economical use of household appliances and electrical devices.

The leading engineer of the department of automated dispatch management systems Andrey Mozokhin prepared for the young people the presentation “Digital Electric Grid”, with the help of which the power engineer spoke about global trends in digital energy, as well as about the prospects for the development of smart electric grids in Russia.

Kostromaenergo’s guests thanked the specialists of the branch for an interesting and informative tour. “We are grateful to Kostromaenergo for the fact that the young people in an accessible and interactive form received knowledge of both the work of the enterprise and the energy profession. This will help them consciously decide in the future on the choice of their future specialty,” noted teachers of educational institutions.

Kostromaenergo pays great attention to the training of qualified personnel for further work at the enterprise. In addition to tours, the power engineers regularly hold open doors days for young people, various career guidance actions and events.
