Nelidovosky Distribution Zone of Tverenergo installed more than 500 new smart electricity metering devices

26.04.2019

IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division in the framework of measures to reduce electricity losses, installed 572 remote meters of an automated electricity metering system (AMI) in the Belsky section of Nelidovsky Distribution Zone.

The AMI implementation will allow continuous monitoring of the 6-10 kV grid operation modes, improve the quality of the transmitted signal, minimize unauthorized interference with the operation of metering devices by third parties, and ensure effective counteraction to attempts of electricity theft. The readings from these devices are automatically transmitted to the AMI of the electric grid company, while the consumer has the opportunity to take readings of the device using the remote control with the LCD display, without leaving home.

It is worth noting that the power engineers on a personal example show consumers the need to install new smart metering devices. The employees of the Belsky section of Nelidovsky Distribution Zone were the first in the district to decide to equip their homes with remote meters. A “smart” meter is not only the optimal solution and convenience for the grid company, but also comfort for the consumer,” notes Olga Novikova, a specialist at the point of work with consumers of Nelidovsky Distribution Zone, who also installed a new smart metering device. “In addition to the possibility of remote reading of data, these metering devices allow you to use several options of tariffs at the request of residents. Thus, by choosing the most suitable tariff for you, you can significantly reduce the payment for electricity.”

“The installation of new multifunctional remote measuring devices will significantly reduce the number of facts of non-contractual and non-metered electricity consumption,” notes Anton Balakin, the deputy director for sales and development of services of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division. “Modernization of the existing metering system of the branch will make it possible to reduce electricity losses in Nelidovsky Distribution Zone by 1 million kW/h per year, which in monetary terms will amount to more than 3 million rubles.”
