23.04.2019

IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division was named the best structural unit for reducing electricity losses in 2018. The leader of the work in this direction is Rzhevsky Distribution Zone.

During 2018, the Distribution Zone’s operation to reduce losses was assessed by several indicators. First of all, the fulfillment of the plan in terms of losses, changes compared with the last year, the actual level of electricity losses were taken into account.

In 2018, electricity losses in Rzhevsky Distribution Zone were reduced compared to the previous year by 5,600,000 kWh.

The positive changes in reducing losses were largely achieved thanks to the regularly conducted mass inspection of consumers’ metering devices and the taking of control readings, as well as instrumental examination of measuring metering systems for electricity. An important role was played by the systematic raid work on the identification of facts of electricity theft with the participation of law enforcement officials.

During the year, employees of the Distribution Zone conducted 19 raids to detect illegal consumption of electricity. In the course of them, 38 facts of non-metered and non-contractual consumption were revealed with a total volume of more than 534 thousand kWh.

The diploma and cup of the winner to the chief of Rzhevsky Distribution Zone Mikhail Kocherov were handed over by Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division director Manvel Mazhonts. Thanking the head of the Distribution Zone for high-quality work and positive changes, the head of the branch stressed: “Reducing electricity losses is one of the strategic directions of Tverenergo’s activities. This award is a good indicator of a responsible attitude and approach to the work carried out by the employees. The achieved results will allow to increase the energy efficiency of the process of electricity transmission, and therefore, to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply of the district and the Tver region as a whole.”

Intensified work in the direction of reducing losses will be continued in the current year. As Anton Balakin, Deputy Director for Sales and Development of Services of the branch, notes: “In addition to regular activities to identify and curb unauthorized electricity consumption, the Tver branch plans to equip the Distribution Zone of the city of Rzhev with new multifunctional smart electricity metering devices. At present, the modernization of the existing metering system is being carried out in five districts of the region, which in the future will make it possible to achieve a steady downward trend in electricity losses.”
