Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division took part in the All-Russian command and staff exercises conducted by the EMERCOM of Russia. In the course of the exercises, actions of the authorities and forces of the unified state system of prevention and response to emergency situations were worked out in order to increase the level of protection of the population from seasonal hazards and threats of a natural and man-made nature.
On 17 April, within the framework of the exercises at the site of the Centre of the State Inspectorate for small vessels of the Emergencies Ministry of Russia in the Voronezh region, a readiness review of forces and means for practical actions to ensure trouble-free operation through spring floods, as well as related to the protection of human settlements, economic facilities and social infrastructure from fires was held. Voronezhenergo was represented by a crew of the Voronezh power line section, equipped with modern vehicles, which allow eliminating consequences of emergency situations as soon as possible. In particular, the power engineers presented an aerial platform, which is intended for installation of process equipment and maintenance of overhead lines, a drilling machine based on an off-road vehicle, as well as a crew vehicle with necessary equipment and modern means of communication. In addition to the power engineers, rescuers, employees of emergency operational services, representatives of the gas service and housing and public utilities organizations took part in the review.
In the course of practical activities that took place after the review, actions were taken to eliminate the consequences of rising water levels in rivers, as well as actions in case of a ground forest fire, its crowning and approaching human settlements and socially significant facilities.
According to the results of the review, members of the regional commission for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations and fire safety noted the high quality of Voronezhenergo’s personnel training and the technical equipment of the branch.
The most frequent seasonal risks in the Central Federal District are floods and wildfires. The specialists of the Voronezh branch of IDGC of Centre annually conduct a set of activities aimed at ensuring reliable operation of the regional power grid complex during the period of seasonal risks. In case of emergency situations, the branch’s specialists are fully equipped with an emergency reserve, the necessary forces and means have been prepared, operational interaction has been established with units of the EMERCOM, the regional administration and hydrometeorological services.
