Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division in April 2019 met with pupils of the 9th grade of school No. 30 of the city of Smolensk. The schoolchildren were told about the work of power engineers and their daily tasks, about what you need to know in order to become a representative of this profession, and where to study. In addition, in the course of watching the thematic video, the senior pupils learned which professions are most in demand in the Smolensk energy industry and got acquainted with the work of energy specialists of various specialties - an electrician, master, dispatcher, engineer, electrical fitter, driver of specialized vehicles, etc.
The branch on a permanent basis attracts graduates of specialized institutions to the ranks of its employees. Cooperation agreements have been concluded with “NRU “MPEI”, Smolensk Polytechnic Technical School, Roslavl Multi-Profile College, Desnogorsk Energy College, Vyazma Polytechnic Technical School, Vyazemsky Railway Technical School, Yartsevsky Industrial Technical School.
Every year, internships are organized for students of specialized institutions in Distribution Zones and in the executive office.
A separate part of the lesson was the acquaintance of the schoolchildren with the “ABC of digital transformation” developed by IDGC of Centre. The power engineers told about the goals and objectives of the electric grid complex as part of the implementation of the Digital Transformation Concept, and also showed what the “digital electrician” would look like.
The schoolchildren reacted with interest to the proposed topics and asked the specialists questions not only about the specifics of the energy profession, but also about the development prospects of the industry, about the plans of the branch within the framework of digitalization in the near future.
