Smolenskenergo’s employees were introduced to the digital transformation features during the Master’s Day

In preparation for the start of the mass work season, IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division, on the basis of Smolensky, Roslavlsky, Vyazemsky and Safonovsky Distribution Zones, held the annual Master’s Day. It was attended by heads of structural subdivisions of the enterprise, chief engineers and masters and senior foremen of the Distribution Zones.

One of the important topics of the event was the study of the ABC of Digital Transformation, developed by IDGC of Centre and the main functions of a digital electrician. While viewing the educational film, the participants were able to get acquainted with the changes that are planned for the future. The topics of practical application of distributed automation in the 6-10 kV distribution grid were considered in more detail.

The program of the event also included a discussion of basic technical solutions for the construction of 0.4-10 kV overhead lines, experience in using reclosers in distribution grids, and the creation of a digital distribution zone.

Crews of each Distribution Zone currently use DVRs for operation. Specialists of the department of industrial safety and production control once again showed the masters how to properly conduct the clearance of crews and briefings, and also told them about the system remarks noted on video recording. In addition, the participants of the Master’s Day got acquainted with the order of conducting operating talks, design and application of switching forms in 0.4 -10 kV distribution grids.

At the end of the event, the participants familiarized themselves with the design, characteristics and features of the drive operation to switches of type PP-67, as well as the device of relay protection and automation of 6-10 kV overhead lines.

“The event turned out to be rich and informative. It provided an opportunity to discuss relevant production issues with colleagues, exchange practical experience and best practices, learn about the features of digital transformation, get acquainted with the functions of the digital electrician and learn about the features of the digital Distribution Zone,” commented the acting head of the office of distribution grids Semyon Terentyev.

During the meeting, the management of Smolenskenergo reminded of the need for strict observance of labour protection rules by both masters and repair personnel of electric grid districts, since the mass repair season has already started in early April.
