Kostromaenergo awarded winners of the regional stage of the Olympiad of ROSSETI

A ceremony of awarding winners of the first, regional stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren of PJSC ROSSETI was held at IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division. Awards were presented to them by Acting Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division director Dmitry Prokhorov and the acting head of the HR department of the enterprise Lyudmila Tkachenko.

In the Kostroma region, the qualifying stage of the Olympiad was held in early March 2019 on the basis of the Kostroma Power Engineering School named after F.V. Chizhov. The event was organized by Kostromaenergo, the Department of Education and Science of the Kostroma Region and the Centre for Gifted Schoolchildren, with participating schoolchildren from Kostroma, Volgorechensk, Sharinsky, Kadyisky, Susaninsky, Krasnoselsky, Buysky, Ostrovsky, Makaryevsky, Sudislavsky, Manturovsky and Kostromsky districts. For two days, the children performed assignments aimed at testing knowledge in the framework of general education programs in the subjects of physics, mathematics and computer science. According to the results of their check, the competition committee determined three winners. Among the pupils of the 9th grade they were Pavel Egorov and Alexander Kobozev from the municipal budgetary general education institutions of the city of Kostroma “Lyceum No. 34” and “Lyceum No. 17”. Another representative of Lyceum No. 17, Danil Razzhivin, was the best among tenth-graders. All three will participate in the final, federal stage of the Olympiad.

In his welcoming speech, Dmitry Prokhorov congratulated the children and wished them success in the next stage, not to stop at what they have achieved, and, perhaps, to connect their future life with the popular power engineering profession. The winners of the regional stage were awarded diplomas and gifts. After the awarding ceremony, a tour to the Grid Control Centre and the Museum of the History of Kostroma Energy was organized for the schoolchildren.

The All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren of ROSSETI’s Group of Companies has been held for the second year in a row to identify gifted high school students who are capable of innovative thinking and are ready to link their professional activities with electric power engineering, involving them in the development of advanced infrastructure and technology projects relevant to the power grid complex of Russia. The final stage of the Olympiad will be held in absentia. Its participants will have to solve case studies with tasks aimed at testing creative abilities and the capability to apply the existing knowledge in the course of solving applied problems in the field of the electric power industry. The winners will receive the right to become participants in the energy project shift of PJSC ROSSETI at the site of one of the All-Russian children’s health centres.
