The winner of the regional stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of ROSSETI-2019 determined in Smolensk

The first qualifying round of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren of ROSSETI in the Smolensk region, organized by IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division, was held on 2-3 March on the basis of a branch of NRU MPEI in the city of Smolensk. The main goal of the Olympiad is to identify students who are talented, capable of technical creativity and innovative thinking, planning their professional activities in the electricity industry, and also involve them in the development of advanced infrastructure and technology projects relevant to the power grid complex of the Russian Federation.

Among those who wanted to test their knowledge were pupils of the ninth and tenth grades from 7 schools of the region. Schoolchildren from Desnogorsk, Safonovo, Roslavl and Smolensk took part in the competition. The largest number of applications for participation in the Olympiad came from gymnasium number 1 named after Przhevalsky of the city of Smolensk and school number 2 of the city of Desnogorsk. The winner was a 9th grader Lev Vilboa from Gymnasium number 1 named after Przhevalsky of the city of Smolensk, who scored the highest number of points performing tasks aimed at checking the level of knowledge in the framework of programs of secondary education in computer science, mathematics and physics. Sets of variants of tasks were developed by the methodical commission of the Olympiad. It also established uniform criteria and methods for checking the work, which will be carried out by the regional commission.

The award ceremony took place on 9 April in the walls of Gymnasium number 1 named after Przhevalsky of the city of Smolensk. Now Lev Vilboa will represent the Smolensk region at the second stage of the Olympiad, during which students will have to solve applied problems in the field of energy.
