Undergraduates of a branch of NRU MPEI in the city of Smolensk had a real opportunity to talk with future employers as part of the Day of the employer held at the university. The number of employers presenting their organization included IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division, which is one of the leading energy companies in the region.
Alla Korolkova, the head of the human resources office of Smolenskenergo, told the students about IDGC of Centre and its branches, about the company’s youth, personnel and social policy. The conversation about the work in the branch was finished with a video about the most popular specialties at the enterprise. “The main goal of the Day of the employer is to assist in the employment of future specialists. Such events help students meet with potential employers, understand exactly what is expected of them. In turn, the employer during the conversation can present his organization, answer questions of interest to students,” Alla Korolkova commented.
Alexey Magon, the head of the electric modes service of the branch, told the potential employees about the most up-to-date development of electrical grids “Digital transformation of the electric grid complex”. The students learned about who a “digital electrician” is and what a “digital Distribution Zone” is, how the region’s power system will change in the coming years. For example, in the very near future, it is planned to create the Unified Grid Control Centre for Smolenskenergo, equipped with modern automated systems of operational, technological and situational management. At the same time, a conceptually new approach to the control system of the electric grid complex will be applied on the basis of a unified information model of the grid, which will reduce the number and time to eliminate technological violations.
