Smolenskenergo implemented in 2018 grid connection of a number of socially significant facilities

01.04.2019

An important activity of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division is the grid connection of social facilities. In 2018, Smolenskenergo’s specialists provided power supply, an increase in power or a change in the category of reliability of 43 socially significant facilities. Among them there are three regional cultural and leisure centres, boiler houses, artesian wells, a water tower, as well as facilities of the municipal unitary enterprise “Smolenskteploset”, “Smolenskregionteploenergo” LLC, State Corporation “Rostec”, 23 facilities of OJSC “Gazprom Gas Distribution Smolensk” and others.

In June 2018, Smolenskenergo fully completed work on the grid connection agreement of the new perinatal centre on Frunze Street in the city of Smolensk. The maximum connected capacity of the facility was 2.29 MW. The facility was built as part of the modernization of health care in the Smolensk region in terms of the design, construction and commissioning of the perinatal centre for the regional state program “Development of Health Care in the Smolensk Region” for 2014–2020. At the end of 2018, in the new perinatal centre, two outpatient-clinical departments — medical and genetic counseling and reproductive health services — were launched. The institution has already taken the first patients. The perinatal centre became the largest socially significant facility connected to the grid of IDGC of Centre in the Smolensk region in 2018.

Among the socially significant facilities at which the power engineers provided an increase in capacity are the boarding school for gifted children “Phoenix” in the village of Molgino of Novoduginsky district. On 29 August, the grand opening of the new building of the boarding school took place. The plans were to build a 25-metre long swimming pool next to the school building, so that children could have water sports activities all year round. Preparation for the construction of this facility began in the autumn. In December, the power engineers completed the pool connection (maximum power - 100 kW)

The second large facility, whose capacity was increased last year - the Smolensk Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital, where the MRI tomograph appeared. For this, two 0.4 kV cable lines with a length of 250 m each were constructed.

The maximum capacity of the boarding school and children’s clinical hospital is now 300 kW and 340 kW, respectively.

Thus, the power engineers in 2018 provided about 3.26 MW of capacity to socially significant facilities of the Smolensk region.

Grid connection of social facilities is an important activity of the branch. Having qualitatively and efficiently performed all the necessary work to provide power to the new facilities in this category, IDGC of Centre once again confirmed the status of a socially responsible company, making a significant contribution to ensuring the socio-economic development of the regions of its operational responsibility.
