Kostromaenergo introduces students to the concept of digital transformation

Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division, within the framework of the regional digital technology week held by Kostroma State University (KSU), conducted a public lecture at the university on “Digital transformation of the electric grid complex: background and development paths”. The event was attended by about 100 students of the KSU of the Institute of Automated Systems and Technologies of the specialty “Information Systems” and “Management in Technical Systems”, as well as 30 students of the Kostroma Power Engineering School named after F.V. Chizhov.

The lecture began with the presentation of the “ABC of digital transformation” developed by IDGC of Centre. Its main sections were presented by the head of the technological development office of Kostromaenergo Mikhail Soloviev, the leading engineer of the office of energy saving and energy efficiency improvement of the branch Andrey Smirnov and the leading engineer of the section for operation of automated systems Andrey Mozokhin.

After that, they organized a discussion on the theme “The Future of Energy”, in the framework of which the future power engineers, programmers, engineers were able to express their ideas about how they envision digital energy. In addition, Andrey Mozokhin offered to the students to try on the uniform of an electrical fitter and dream up the image of a "fitter of the future" as part of the upcoming digital transformation.

The organizers of the regional digital technology week expressed their intention to conduct similar lectures on digital transformation for students of other specialties too.

“We are grateful to Kostromaenergo for the opportunity to get acquainted with the concept of digital transformation. This will allow us, in the process of teaching, to guide students to new directions and demands of the industry, to prepare them for modern realities,” stressed Vladimir Drozdov, Professor of the Department of Automation and Microprocessor Technology of the KSU, in his closing speech.
