“The smart metering system will improve the quality of electricity supply, since we will simply identify those involved in power stealing. It is because of the theft of electricity that voltage drops in the grid most often occur, household appliances break down, the probability of accidents and fires increases. Now we can see the status of the meter and its readings on our computers in real time and can remotely de-energize those who do not want to honestly pay for consumed electricity,” explained Vadim Negrobov, the head of the electricity metering office of IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division, the principle of operation of the smart meters.
