21.03.2019

As part of the program to reduce injuries at power facilities, IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division continues to work on removal of overhead lines and transformer substations from territories of children’s institutions. At the end of 2018, work was performed in the territories of 6 schools and 1 kindergarten. The cost of the company amounted to more than 750 thousand rubles.

In the course of the implementation of the Program, the power engineers carry out transfer of overhead power lines passing near educational institutions, sports facilities and playgrounds beyond their territories, change of overhead lines into cable lines into a trench, and in areas where there is no possibility of removing low-voltage overhead lines, the power engineers replace wire to a more modern and safer - self-supporting insulated wire SIW.

The implementation of the program for the transfer of energy facilities from the territories of children’s institutions is part of the systematic work of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division on the prevention of children’s electrical injuries. During the school holidays, the power engineers, in addition to the work required by the standards, make additional checks of locking devices of substations, install prohibition signs and information posters about the danger of electric current.

Also, in 2018, in the territory of the Tambov region, the branch’s specialists conducted the “Current to lock” campaign, its goal was to draw the attention of the general public to electrical injuries caused by illiterate and unsafe behaviour near power facilities, whose locking devices were damaged by vandals. As part of this action, the branch’s employees placed posters on doors of substations located near children’s institutions with stickers indicating where to refer for citizens if they find an open door or a damaged transformer substation lock.
