Competitions were held last Saturday at the training centre of the Military Academy of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection named after Marshal of the Soviet Union S.K. Timoshenko on the border of the Yaroslavl and Kostroma regions. 27 teams from the Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow, Vladimir and Tver regions took part in them. One of the Kostroma teams was formed from employees of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division. It included the head of the mechanization and transport service Nikolay Kurshev, the chief Ostrovsky Distribution Zone Sergey Chistyakov, an aerial and hydraulic lift truck driver from Neysky Distribution Zone Andrey Serov, and an electrician from Mezhevsky Distribution Zone Andrey Ivanov.
The participants of the championship had to cross a 3 km long track and one rifle line on hunting skis without using poles, where they had to hit the fixed boar target without the use of optics from a standing position. For this they were given three shots.
It is worth noting that the team of Kostroma power engineers of IDGC of Centre for the first time participated in such an event. Although they took no steps of the pedestal, the team performed with dignity. “This is a great event for us. I liked it very much, adrenaline was at the limit. We shot out well. We did not win prizes, but now we know how everything goes, what are the nuances. We will be preparing to conquer this route in 2020,” said Andrey Serov, a driver at Neysky Distribution Zone.
According to the results of the championship, the winners and prize-winners in the team and individual standings were awarded with medals, gifts and cups.
