IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division completed the preparation for the flood period. In order to ensure reliable operation of the region’s power grid complex, during the spring flood, the company’s specialists performed a total of more than 40 activities. They were supervised by a flood commission under the leadership of First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of Tambovenergo Igor Polyakov.
The power engineers determined the list of facilities located in high-risk areas during the spring flood period for the implementation of anti-flood measures. The emergency reserve of materials and equipment, backup power supply sources, mobile pumps, water-borne vehicles, special equipment and mechanisms, operating and backup communication and warning channels were ensured. Inspections of overhead power line crossings were carried out. Schemes of delivery of equipment, materials and vehicles to the proposed flood zones in the event of elimination of possible damage to substation equipment and overhead lines have been determined.
To obtain timely forecasts of the flood situation in the region Tambovenergo has established effective interaction with the Hydrometeorological Service, local and regional authorities and the General Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia for the Tambov region.
“Timely implementation of organizational and technical measures to prepare for the flood serves as a guarantee of reliable operation of power grid facilities, allows to avoid outages, maintain equipment in good condition and ensure high-quality and reliable power supply to consumers in the region during the spring flood,” stressed Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division director Nikolay Bogomolov.
