The first qualifying regional stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of ROSSETI was held in Tver

In Tver, high school students in the region took part in the first stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren of PJSC ROSSETI.

Its results will help identify talented students who are capable of technical creativity and innovative thinking, planning their professional activities in the electricity industry. This can help involve them in the development of advanced infrastructure and technology projects relevant to the power grid complex of the Russian Federation.

Welcoming the students at the opening of the first stage of the Olympiad, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division director Manvel Mazhonts noted that participation in these intellectual competitions is not only a great honour, but also a unique opportunity for high school students to test themselves and get to know actual problems and directions of energy development, solving unusual and interesting tasks: “Today, in the age of high technologies, the possession of knowledge, the desire to increase it, becomes the main tool that opens new ways and doors for the man. It is the very goal of developing the creative, scientific, and professional potential of the younger generation that ROSSETI’s Group of Companies supports gifted and talented young people.”

For two days, on the basis of the Tver Training and Production Centre, the schoolchildren carried out tasks aimed at checking the level of knowledge in the framework of programs of secondary general education in the subjects “Mathematics”, “Physics” and “Computer Science”. The test results will be evaluated by members of the regional jury of the Olympiad, which included teachers of physics, mathematics and computer science from schools of Tver, the Tver State Technical University, the Tver Lyceum, as well as methodologists of the Centre for Development of Education in the City of Tver. At the end of the regional stage, the strongest will be identified, who will be given the right to participate in the next stage.
