Voronezh high school students took part in the first stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren of PJSC ROSSETI

On 2 and 3 March 2019, the first stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren of PJSC ROSSETI took place in Voronezh. The regional stage was organized by IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division with the support of the Department of Education, Science and Youth Policy of the Voronezh Region. ROSSETI has held the Olympics for the second time and seeks to identify gifted high school students, capable of technical creativity and innovative thinking.

“The development of any industry is impossible without energy, and the development of energy cannot be imagined without highly qualified personnel. Therefore, today the power engineering profession is more in demand than ever. We are holding this Olympiad with great hope that its participants will associate their profession with the energy industry in the future,” stressed Vladimir Shatskikh, Deputy Director for Capital Construction of Voronezhenergo, at the opening ceremony of the Olympiad.

At the first stage, 30 pupils of the 9th and 10th grades from schools in the Voronezh region solved test tasks in physics, mathematics and computer science, aimed at checking the level of knowledge in the framework of secondary education programs in the subjects.

“I liked the conditions for participation in the Olympics, they are unlike those that are traditionally held in schools. Quite difficult, but interesting tasks, so I hope to win,” said one of the participants of the Olympiad, a 9th grade student of the Voronezh gymnasium named after Basova Anna Nazarchuk.

The second stage of the Olympiad "Hope of Energy" will be held with the support of the Moscow, Ivanovo, Kazan Energy and Siberian Federal Universities. High school students who have scored the highest number of points will have to perform applied creative tasks and prove their knowledge in the electric power industry in practice.

Winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad will receive the right to become members of the Energy Project Shift of PJSC ROSSETI at the site of one of the All-Russian children’s health centres.
