About 160 pupils of the ninth and tenth grades from various districts of the region became participants in the first qualifying round of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren of PJSC ROSSETI. The regional event was organized by IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division with the support of the Regional Department of Education and the Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov.
The Olympiad in physics, computer sciences and mathematics was held simultaneously in all regions of presence of PJSC ROSSETI. In the Belgorod region - on the site of the supporting university and a regular partner in the training of qualified personnel for the energy industry - the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.
The contest participants were greeted by Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division director Sergey Demidov. He stressed that the power industry today more than ever needs talented, creative, enterprising engineers with non-standard innovative thinking and deep knowledge. Opportunities for winners and prize winners go far beyond the boundaries of the Belgorod region, since ROSSETI is represented almost throughout the country. Today’s high school students can tomorrow become authors of successful developments, newest projects and innovative start-ups and, as a result, enter the personnel reserve of PJSC ROSSETI. In addition, as Natalya Altynnik, Director of the Small Technological University, noted when entering the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, all winners and prize winners will receive five and three points to the results of the Unified State Examination, respectively.
The chief specialist of the educational activities support department at the Regional Department of Education Evgeniya Kovalevskaya explained that the Olympiad of ROSSETI was organized on the principle of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren. The main difference is the fact that the winners are determined by the amount of points scored simultaneously in three subjects. The regional jury composed of faculty members will evaluate the work in coded form. The final results will be posted on the website of the “Olympiad of Belogorye schoolchildren” at http://olymp.beluno.ru/.
The All-Russian School Olympiad of PJSC ROSSETI has been held for the second year in a row. The main goal of the competition is the search for gifted, capable of technical creativity and innovative thinking, enthusiastic young people who plan to link their future with the electric power industry. Winners and prize-winners will become participants in the final stage and will compete with their peers from other regions in solving applied complex tasks (cases) from the electric power industry. Summing up and awarding winners will be held in May. Schoolchildren who have scored the maximum number of points will become participants in the Energy Project Shift of PJSC ROSSETI and will enter the personnel reserve of the company.
