Kurskenergo in 2018 saved more than 3 million kWh of electricity

IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division summed up the results of the implementation of the program of energy saving and energy efficiency increase for 2018. The total effect of its implementation was 3.6 million kWh.

The main amount of savings - 1.9 million kWh - was obtained as a result of the implementation of organizational measures: switching off transformers in low load modes at substations with two or more transformers, switching off transformers with seasonal load, equalizing phase loads in distribution grids of 0.38 kV.

948 thousand kWh were saved due to the implementation of technical measures: replacing wires with a larger cross section on overloaded power lines and wires of taps of overhead lines in residential buildings with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW), and replacing transformers with energy-efficient ones.

Thanks to measures aimed at reducing electricity consumption for the substation’s utility needs, namely, controlling the disconnection of heating equipment at substations without permanent attendants, it was possible to save 735 thousand kWh.

In addition, Kurskenergo reduced energy consumption for utility needs by replacing incandescent bulbs with energy-saving LED ones. The overall effect of this work was 32 thousand kWh.

The implementation of the program of energy saving and energy efficiency is aimed at reducing the costs of electricity transmission, decreasing production losses, which allows improving the quality and reliability of electricity supply to consumers in the Kursk region.
