IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division pays great attention to the work on the prevention of children’s electrical injuries. Its important component is lessons of electrical safety, which power engineers conduct in educational institutions of Kursk and the Kursk region during the year.

The branch’s specialists held regular classes for pupils of secondary schools in Schigrovsky and Manturovsky districts. About 130 children aged from 7 to 16 took part in them.

Kurskenergo’s power engineers told the children about the basic rules of electrical safety, the meaning of warning and prohibition signs installed on electrical equipment. The schoolchildren learned what danger posed by faulty electrical appliances and bare wires, why one must not climb poles of power lines, enter premises of substations, and approach broken wires. All the lessons were accompanied by demonstration of visual materials and videos.

Kurskenergo conducts electrical safety lessons as part of a comprehensive program to reduce the risk of injury to third parties of IDGC of Centre. Every year more than 3,000 children take part in thematic classes of power engineers.
