Employees and veterans of Kurskenergo commemorate the soldiers-liberators of the city of Kursk

Representatives of the trade union organization, the Council of Veterans and the Youth Council of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division took part in commemorative events dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Kursk from the German invaders.

According to the established tradition, on 8 February, the power engineers together with representatives of government bodies, public organizations and city guests went as a common column to the memorial to those who fell during the Great Patriotic War, where they laid flowers at the Eternal Flame and honoured the memory of those killed on the battlefields with a minute of silence. Representatives of the Council of Veterans also laid flowers at the monument to Stepan Perekalsky - the commander of the 1089th rifle regiment, who gave his life for the liberation of the city of Kursk.

In addition, on the eve, veterans and young specialists of Kurskenergo visited the Museum of the Battle of Kursk. During the tour, representatives of the company were showed documentaries about the battles on the Kursk land, told the story of the personal belongings of soldiers and officers, showed unique exhibits: parts of the T-34 tank, a gun carriage of a regimental cannon damaged by a projectile.

Every year, Kurskenergo’s team actively participates in events dedicated to the celebration of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. On the eve of the memorable dates, the power engineers visit the veterans with gifts, lay flowers on the memorials of the fallen soldiers, and decorate the territories of the monuments.
