Smolenskenergo reports that it is illegal to prevent power engineers from taking control readings of an electricity meter

IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division reminds the duty of consumers to ensure admission of representatives of the electric grid organization to metering devices for taking control readings.

In accordance with Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 442 of 04.05.2012, the consumer must transmit information about indications of billing electricity metering devices to the supplier of last resort and the grid organization. Representatives of the latter verify the correctness of the transmitted data on the readings of the metering devices.

It is in the interests of a bona fide consumer to allow a specialist of the grid company to perform a control reading of an electricity meter. In case of refusal, an act of non-admission to the metering device is drawn up. When you repeat the situation, the amount of electricity consumption is determined by the calculation method (by maximum power or by section of the input cable). In this case, the final indicator will significantly exceed the actual data on electricity consumption.
