In 2018, employees of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division recorded a fact that ill-minded persons shot insulators on one of power lines in Gubkinsky district.
The incident occurred on the 10 kV line of the Substation “B. Dvory”. A first responding crew of power engineers, which arrived to eliminate consequences of a technological violation, discovered a break in wires and destruction of the insulators as a result of the shooting, allegedly from a hunting rifle. According to consumers, a flash was noticed on the pole, after which a power outage occurred. Without electricity there were 5 settlements with a population of 249 people. The damage caused to the branch is estimated at 5.9 thousand rubles.
After 34 minutes, the damaged section of the overhead line was switched off for repair, and consumers were resupplied with backup circuits. However, it took 2 hours and 13 minutes to completely eliminate the consequences of the failure and restore normal operation of the power equipment. In total, over the past three years, 6 such cases were identified in the region. The total time of the power interruption for consumers was 7.7 hours.
Belgorodenergo reminds of the inadmissibility of deliberate damage to power grid equipment. Such actions can lead to power outages and cause electrical injuries to people. For such actions there is criminal liability under Art. 215.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Damaging life-support facilities", providing for punishment of imprisonment up to seven years.
It is equally important to remember that ordinary residents of the region suffer from a lack of electricity - houses, enterprises, organizations and social institutions can be de-energized. In addition, hiding from the scene of the crime, vandals endanger people who may accidentally end up near a damaged power line.
