Belgorod power engineers congratulated a schoolgirl from Volokonovka with a victory in the All-Russian competition

The fourth-grade pupil of the Foschevatov secondary school in Volokonovsky District, Kaleria Maslova, became a prize-winner of the All-Russian Competition of Creative, Design and Research Works #VmesteYarche, which was held as part of the energy-saving festival of the same name. The schoolgirl’s award today, on the Power Engineers’ Day, was presented by the chief engineer of Volokonovsky Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division Alexander Timoshevsky at the ceremonial lineup.

The competition was held in three age categories in different thematic areas. Pupils of 9-11 grades competed in creative projects, grades 5-9 in a composition and essay, pupils of elementary grades competed in a drawing and poster contest on the topic: “To save means to help: what can I and everyone do”.

The work of Kaleria “Saving electricity, we protect nature” entered the top five, first at the regional level, and later became the winner in the All-Russian. 4,129 schoolchildren from 62 regions of Russia took part in the competition.

The prize-winners of the competition have the preferential right to take part in thematic shifts held with the support of the Ministry of Energy of Russia in the summer in the leading children’s centres of the country “Orlyonok” and “Okean”.

The All-Russian Competition of Creative, Design and Research Works #VmesteYarche was organized with the support of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia (the Ministry of Education of Russia), the State Corporation “Housing and Utilities Reform Facilitation Fund”, the National Research Institute of Power Engineering and the UN Development Program. It is aimed at promoting energy saving and enhancing the prestige of the energy profession, including attracting talented schoolchildren to the industry.
