Smolenskenergo’s specialists told preschool children about electricity

12.12.2018

Employees of the public relations department of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division held an unusual lesson in kindergarten No. 55 “Mishutka” in the city of Smolensk. Under the guidance of the power engineers, the children made a fascinating journey to the magical country “Energolandiya”, where they learned what electricity is, why it is needed, how it is generated and comes into our homes. The fairy tale character Signor Plugselion warned the children about dangers of electricity and taught them how to handle electrical appliances, and the characters of Light, Cold, Television and Boogie Man told how to help parents save water, heat and electricity. During the P.T. break, repeating poems about energy saving and solving riddles, the kids consolidated their knowledge. Then the children played a board game on electrical safety and painted pictures with the rules on energy saving.

At the conclusion of the event, each child was able to reincarnate into energy - try on a protective suit, hard hat, dielectric gloves and boots, and Smolenskenergo’s experts told the children about the importance and responsibility of this profession. The main gift for future first-graders was the schedule of lessons, the design of which was developed by IDGC of Centre.

“The branch has been cooperating with kindergartens of the city of Smolensk for more than a year, carrying out measures for the careful and safe handling of electricity. They always pass with success and cause great interest in children,” explained Maria Romanova, the head of the public relations department at Smolenskenergo.
