In 2018 Belgorodenergo recorded over 40 facts of damage to power lines by third parties

04.12.2018

For 11 months, IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division recorded 43 collisions of vehicles with poles of overhead power lines as a result of an accident and passing vehicles with oversized cargo under power lines. The damage was expressed in the undersupply of electricity and the decline in the quality of customer service.

About 25% of accidents occurred on the territory of Valuisky district. In particular, on 22 November, a 10 kV power line was de-energized as a result of a traffic accident in the settlement of Urazovo. About two thousand residents of the villages of Znamenka, Togobievka, Kukuyevka, Dolgoye, as well as a number of socially significant facilities were de-energized. A first responding mobile crew of Valuisky Distribution Zone arrived at the scene and found a downed pole, breakdown of wires and insulators and other damages in three spans of the power line. Additional personnel, motor and specialized vehicles were involved into elimination of malfunctions.

Power engineers promptly isolated the damaged part of the grid, consumers were powered by backup circuits, without violating the mode of operation of socially significant facilities. It took several hours to repair the line and restore the normal circuit.

In road accidents involving hitting power lines, not only drivers and passengers, but also other citizens are affected. Settlements, hospitals, kindergartens and other socially significant facilities may be without electricity.

In order to avoid such incidents, any actions in security zones of power lines, as well as passing large-sized vehicles under overhead lines, must be coordinated with the grid company. The Distribution Zone personnel will lift the overhead wire to the desired height. In case of a collision with a power line pole, you must immediately inform about it via the direct line number of IDGC of Centre at 13-50 (federal number 8800-50-50-115) and not aggravate your guilt, hiding from the scene.
