Kostromaenergo’s specialist co-authored a textbook for students on digitalization

04.12.2018

A specialist of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division Andrey Mozokhin together with teachers of the Automation and Microprocessor Technology Department (AMT) of the Kostroma State University (KSU) prepared and published a textbook “EnergyNet (Internet of Energy): design of intelligent digital systems in electrical substations”.

The manual is intended for familiarization with modern control systems operated at facilities of the electric grid complex. It details the EnergyNet strategy, which implies the implementation of intelligent devices of dispatching and technological control, modern relay protection and emergency control, and digital commercial metering of electricity at facilities of the unified power system of Russia. Each of the chapters of the textbook gives a special focus on the digitalization of control systems in electrical substations. Teamwork of power engineers and teachers will be used by students in the learning process at the Institute of Automated Systems and Technologies of KSU.

“Intellectual energy, organized according to the model of the familiar Internet, is an adequate response to the challenges of the time. EnergyNet opens up fundamentally new opportunities both for the grid itself and for the end user. That is why today the direction of creating energy of the future on the EnergyNet principles is on the agenda of the National Technology Initiative,” emphasizes the lead engineer of the operation department of the automated control system of Kostromaenergo, Associate Professor at the AMT department of the KSU Andrey Mozokhin.

It is worth noting that Kostromaenergo has been cooperating with the KSU for many years. The laboratory of automated control systems in the electric grid complex (ACS EGC) is open and successfully functions on the basis of the university. The university’s students annually defend their qualification works on the topic of automation in the electric power industry.
