26.11.2018

The first aid competitions for pre-conscription youth were organized by the regional office of the EMERCOM of Russia, the All-Russian Voluntary Fire Association (VDPO), the Kostroma regional branch of the All-Russian Children and Youth Social Movement “Safety School”, the Russian Union of Rescuers (RUOR), regional and city rescuers, IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division and other organizations and agencies. 20 teams representing gymnasiums, lyceums, schools of Kostroma and the centre of extracurricular work "Berkut" took part in them.

The competitions were held in seven stages, each of which was assigned to one of the organizers. Schoolchildren were asked to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in various situations. They provided assistance to victims of burns, fractures, bleeding, carbon monoxide poisoning, helped citizens who had been involved in an accident and had fallen through the ice. At each stage, the judges evaluated the correctness of the actions, the level of knowledge and well-coordinated work of each team member.

Specialists of Kostromaenergo organized the “Electric Shock” stage. Young residents of Kostroma responded to theoretical questions of the electrical safety test, and also demonstrated their skills in providing first aid to the victim from electric current - determined signs of electric shock, relieved the victim from the actions of the current, prepared for resuscitation, indirect massage of the heart, etc. According to the results of the “Electric Shock” stage, the power engineers determined three winners at once: two teams of students from Gymnasium No. 25 and a team of experts from Lyceum No. 41 scored the same number of points. The best participants of the stage were given memorable gifts and safety memos from Kostromaenergo.
