Belgorodenergo summed the results of the comic book, caricature, poster contest “Energy thief! Hold to account!”

The comic book, caricature, poster contest on the subject of electricity theft, organized by IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division together with the exhibition hall and the regional branch of the Union of Artists of Russia, was summed up in the exhibition hall “Rodina”. Works of winners were included in the exposition “Energy thief! Hold to account!”.

The contest was held in three nominations: “Satirical drawing (caricature)”, “Comics” and “Poster” in the categories: “professional artists”, “amateurs” and “children”. More than 50 works from 34 authors were submitted to the jury, 12 of the best became winners. The geography of the participants is from Belgorod to Krasnoyarsk, Orel, Vyazma (Smolensk region), Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod Region, Stavropol Territory and even Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District.

In the category “Professional artists”, Natalia and Vladimir Pronkins received awards for a series of 7 cartoons “Shame, energy thief!”, Elena Kolesnichenko (Stavropol Territory) for the comic “You have to pay for everything!” and a professor of the Belgorod State Institute of Arts Andrey Rogov, who presented the poster “Energy theft is life threatening!”.

“I was attracted by the fresh and original topic of the contest,” stressed Andrey Rogov, receiving the award, “and I immediately decided to bring my students to participate so that they could try themselves too. I can say that everyone creatively and extraordinarily approached the realization of their ideas, worked in different genres and, as a result, received prizes.”

Natalya Goncharenko, Director of Municipal Budget Institution of Culture “Exhibition Hall “Rodina”, noted that the contest was interesting not only for professionals, but also for amateurs, who brought their unusual view on the theme of energy theft into it. Experts sent the diploma of the 1st degree in this category to Victoria Egorova in the Nizhny Novgorod region for the cartoon "Bill". The authors of the best comic and poster were Belgorod citizens Alexey Nepokrytov and Marina Bykh.

Diplomas to children were presented by Chairman of the Belgorod regional branch of the All-Russian creative public organization “Union of Artists of Russia” Stanislav Dymov. In the younger age category, the winners were Matvey Kosterev from Vyazma, Elizaveta Sataeva from St. Petersburg in the nomination “Comics” and a Belgorod schoolgirl Ulyana Rykun in the nomination “Caricature”. “I enjoyed practicing caricature with pleasure,” explained Ulyana. “It was difficult to come up with a cognitive and fun idea, but when everything worked out, it was very interesting to embody it.”

Belgorod citizens Arthur Kaurov, Anna Skopina and Anna Tymoschuk were honoured with encouraging diplomas from the Belgorod regional branch of the Union of Artists of Russia and the exhibition hall “Rodina”.

Power engineers, representatives of the Union of Artists, students of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, the Belgorod State Institute of Arts and schoolchildren - pupils of the Centre of technological education and children’s technical creativity of the city of Belgorod came to the opening of the exhibition to evaluate the works of the winners and participants of the contest.

“The problem of theft of electricity attracted the attention of a rather wide and diverse audience, as this social evil concerns everyone,” stressed the deputy chief for sale of services of Belgorod Distribution Zone of the branch “Belgorodenergo” Maxim Sorokin. “Unlawful interference with operation of grids and violation of the mode of electricity consumption cause damage to property and even people’s lives.” He called on people of different ages and professions to fight theft together and thanked the artists for the satirical view of the problem.

Anyone can visit the exposition of the contest “Energy thief! Hold to account!” in the exhibition hall “Rodina” until the professional holiday of power engineers, 22 December.
