Belgorodenergo takes part in the project “Bridge of Trust”

19.11.2018

IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division became a participant of the project “Bridge of Trust” aimed at socialization and vocational guidance of children and adolescents with disabilities.

The project involved 25 families raising children with disabilities aged 10 to 18 years, and 25 mentors from various fields of activity. One of such mentors was an engineer for relay protection and automation of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division Alexander Patsev.

“My mentee is a 10th grade student of the Blizhneigumenskaya secondary school Deniz Mikailov,” says Alexander. “He is a very cheerful guy. He is fond of volleyball. He is actively involved in school life. Deniz has not yet decided on his future profession, I hope that I can help him in this. And even if after the project his choice does not fall on the energy sector, this will also be good, because at least with one profession he will have already decided. As for the physical limitations, they are more than compensated for by volitional powers and diligence, because where ordinary guys only need a hand to be lent, our mentees have to work long and hard. Such an attitude to life just tempers the character.”

The first acquaintance of the project participants has already taken place. The boys and their mentors have a long way to go, including learning and mindset trainings, master classes, interesting meetings and about 20 lessons in the chosen specialization.

According to Alexander, he and Deniz have already drawn up a training plan, identified the most interesting areas and aspects of the profession, chose practical training topics that allow them to understand and demonstrate to people around where they get light and heat from their homes.

The project will be completed in June 2019 with the regional festival “Path to Success”, at which the results of the work will be presented, and the deliverables of the project will be summarized. According to the organizers and participants of the “Bridge of Trust”, this initiative will help children improve their socialization skills, acquire new knowledge, expand life experience and decide on their future profession.

The project for the development of mentoring "Bridge of Trust" was developed by experts of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rehabilitation Centre for Children and Adolescents with Disabilities". In 2017, it was among the winners of the innovative social projects competition organized by the Foundation for Support of Children in Difficult Life Situations.
