Belgorodenergo’s repair shop for power transformers increased its production capacity

12.11.2018

In 2018, the repair shop for power transformers of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division increased its production capacity to 302 units of power equipment of 6-10 kV per year. At the same time, the average cost of repairing a single transformer, as compared with the same period last year, decreased by 15%.

The repair shop for power transformers of the 6-10 kV voltage class up to 1000 kVA inclusive resumed its work in 2016 on the basis of the previously existing subdivision of Belgorod Electric Grids and currently serves the entire electric grid complex of Belgorodenergo. Specially trained personnel do their own work on repair of magnetic cores with full or partial replacement of insulation and windings, repair of the active part and the tank with attachments, conduct troubleshooting, pre-repair and acceptance tests.

At special equipment the power engineers independently manufacture windings, complete and reassembled transformers, which are then installed in transformer substations (TS) undergoing major repairs. Maintenance with replacement of bushings, cleaning and refilling of oil is made on-site. In total, 302 units of power equipment were repaired this year, which is 10 more than in the past, with 65 transformers undergoing a major overhaul with complete disassembly, drying of oil and replacement of windings.

According to the head of the shop, a master of Belgorod Electric Grids, Yury Akimov, the work of the subdivision allows to significantly speed up the production cycle and reduce the cost of implementing the repair program by refusing contractors’ services. In the future, it is planned to equip the shop with modern equipment and further increase in productivity.

Please, be reminded that power transformers are the main link in the power supply system of consumers. Belgorodenergo operates more than 15,949 units of power equipment of 6-10 kV with a total capacity of 4.1 thous. MVA. Reliable operation of the regional electric grid complex depends on timely and high-quality maintenance and repair of transformers.
