Belgorodenergo automates a grid section in Korochansky district

07.11.2018

IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division is completing a project for construction of smart grid using innovative technologies and digital solutions in Korochansky district of the Belgorod region. 44 million rubles without VAT were spent on the project, which will significantly increase the reliability of electricity supply to residents of Far Igumenka.

The project is based on reconstruction of two overhead power lines of 10 kV in combination with their automation based on intelligent switching devices. The total length of the lines undergoing reconstruction is 17 km. About 1.4 km of grids will be reconstructed with the use of innovative poles made of composite material, the design of which was developed within the framework of the R&D of IDGC of Centre, another 3 km with the use of self-supporting insulated wire of the brand SIW-3, characterized by low failure rate, high reliability and safety for maintenance personnel, and for third parties.

The automation of the overhead lines is carried out on the basis of three vacuum reclosers and two controlled gas-insulated load switches integrated into the operational information complex of the Grid Control Centre of Belgorodenergo and the control room of Korochansky Distribution Zone. In case of emergencies, intelligent switching devices will instantly disconnect the faulty part of the grid and reserve most of the load. Thus, not the whole line is switched off, but only a small section. The remaining consumers within a few seconds will be resupplied with backup circuits.

An operator of Korochansky Distribution Zone will control the state and operating parameters of the reclosers, as well as manage them remotely. According to the calculations of specialists, this will allow to reduce the operating costs by more than 1.5 - 2 times for fault location and to decrease undersupply of electricity by 2 times. The reliability of power supply of two thousand consumers of Far Igumenka and Melikhovo will increase significantly.

Belgorodenergo consistently implements a program for implementation of modern equipment and automated systems to effectively manage and quickly respond to everything that happens in the power system. According to the results of the project, the number of overhead lines of 6-10 kV with automatic backup of load in the branch will increase to 49 units, the number of reclosers - to 85 devices.
