At the end of October 2018, IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division held the final part of professional skill competitions among employees of the department of electricity metering and loss optimization in all Distribution Zones. Such competitions have been held at the branch for the third year in a row with the aim of evaluating and improving the level of professional training of employees of departments of electricity metering and loss optimization of the Distribution Zones, sharing best practices when conducting instrumental checks and connecting electricity metering devices.
The qualifying stages, in which 26 crews took part - one of each of the Distribution Zones of the branch, were held in different districts of the region, and the final competitions were traditionally held at the training centre “Lubnya” of Smolensky district. 4 crews took part in them - the winners of the qualifying competitions - Novoduginsky, Yartsevsky, Ershichsky and Smolensk City Distribution Zones. Each crew consisted of a master and an electrician for operation of electricity meters.
The competitions consisted of 4 stages. At the first stage, the crew’s actions were aimed at identifying sources of electricity losses in 0.4 kV lines. During the second stage, testing was conducted on the knowledge of regulatory and administrative documents. The third stage showed how correctly and quickly the crews can determine the correctness of the connection of a 3-phase metering device transformer connection. During the final, fourth stage, the crews conducted an instrumental check of the measuring complex with a three-phase electricity meter and analyzed the event log.
As a result, the winner was the crew of Ershichsky Distribution Zone. Their colleagues from Smolensk City Distribution Zone took the second place, and the third place went to representatives of Yartsevsky Distribution Zone.
Chief Judge of the competitions - Deputy Director for Sale and Development of Services of Smolenskenergo Oleg Bonadysev awarded the winners with cups and diplomas.
The crew of Novoduginsky Distribution Zone, which took the fourth place, was awarded a diploma for striving for victory. All the participants of the final part of the competitions will be financially encouraged.
