Belgorodenergo provides electricity to water supply facilities in the region

25.10.2018

For 9 months, IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division connected more than 20 water supply and wastewater disposal facilities to power grids as part of the regional program to provide the population with clean drinking water. The total capacity of the connected facilities exceeded 600 kW.

Wastewater treatment facilities are connected to the grid in the settlement of Proletarsky of Rakityansky district, the settlement of Krasnaya Yaruga, the villages of Novaya Slobodka and Koscheevo of Korochansky district, the village of Krugloye of Krasnensky district. Nine water wells, five sewage and three pumping stations located in villages and farms of the region, as well as a new deironing station built in the village of Plotavets of Korochansky district, were provided with reliable power supply.

To connect the water supply facilities to electricity, about 3.1 km of 0.4-10 kV overhead and cable power lines were constructed, 5 transformer substations were installed. In some cases, as a supply source, instead of traditional transformer substations, pole-mounted substations were used to connect consumers with up to 50 kW away from the main grid. The use of pole-mounted substations helps reduce capital construction costs by installing close to consumers and reducing the length of the 0.4 kV grid and allows to optimize the technological consumption of electricity for delivery. In addition, the use of pole-mounted substations reduces the likelihood of electric shock, as the structure is placed at a high height from the ground and all current-carrying parts are isolated.

Providing the population with clean drinking water is the most important direction in the socio-economic development of the Belgorod region. One hundred percent implementation of all planned activities will ensure reliable electricity supply of water supply and wastewater facilities and, as a result, will improve the quality of drinking water in the settlements of the region.
