IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division summed up the implementation of measures to reduce electricity losses for 8 months of 2018. The actual level of losses was 6.92% of the total electricity supply to the grid, which is 0.04% lower than the planned figure. The amount of savings amounted to 617 thousand kWh or 1.7 million rubles.
A weighty effect, in achieving the target level of losses, was given by raids to curb non-metered and non-contractual consumption. From January to August 2018 unscrupulous consumers paid for 28 acts of non-contractual consumption totalling about 2.55 million rubles and 80 acts of non-metered consumption included in the amount of electricity transmission of 22.9 million rubles (including for previous periods). The rest of the violators will pay forcibly, judicially, with the imposition on the perpetrators of all court costs.
Also, the reduction of losses was facilitated by the replacement of metering devices that failed or were recognized unfit for billing. Other organizational and technical measures were also carried out. Including - replacement of overloaded and underloaded transformers, replacement of wires for a larger cross section with overloaded power lines and uninsulated wire with self-supporting insulated wire in places of greatest power losses. Also, transformers were disconnected at low load conditions at substations with two transformers, transformers with seasonal load and phase load equalization in distribution grids of 0.38 kV.
“The effective implementation by the branch of measures to reduce losses contributes to improving the efficiency of the power grid complex, the quality and reliability of electricity supply to consumers in the Tambov region. The funds saved as a result of their implementation are used by the enterprise, among other things, to develop the region’s power grid infrastructure,” stressed Acting Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division director Nikolay Bogomolov.
