Work on the expansion of ROWs along overhead lines started in the Tver region within the Exercises of power engineers

In accordance with the schedule of the Exercises on working out the interaction and eliminating interruptions in the electric grid complex of the Tver region, the power engineers began working out cooperation with contractors and loggers when expanding ROWs along 35-110 kV power lines. Last week, experts of the state-owned enterprise “LPC-Tverles”, foresters and loggers, who, together with the power engineers of PJSC “Rosseti”, take part in the unprecedented and large-scale exercises, began preparatory work.

“During the exercises, it is planned to bring the volume of expansion of ROWs of the main grid of overhead power lines to 100%. A daily detailed work plan has been developed, and its implementation is strictly monitored. By Friday evening, the first 5 hectares were expanded,” explained Igor Makovskiy, General Director of IDGC of Centre. “We thank the Government of the Tver region and the head of the region, Igor Rudenya, for the interaction and support in carrying out the tasks that the power engineers are facing in the exercises.”

From the operational information of the Headquarters of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, it became known that last week the expansion work was carried out at 16 out of 84 facilities. There were also preparatory activities on the ground: clearing the undergrowth and preparing the site for felling trees. All involved specialists passed the necessary instructions and had work permits issued.

“From 8 October, 53 crews consisting of 220 people will start work with involvement of specialized vehicles including five harvester logging combines,” said Alexander Pilyugin, First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre.

Until 22 December, work to expand the ROWs will be carried out in the territory of all 11 forest districts of the Tver region. Monitoring the implementation of planned activities by the Tver region is carried out personally by the head of the region, Igor Rudenya, and the regional Ministry of Forestry.

“The best result that will be achieved following the results of such a large-scale event is light and heat in houses of the Tver region, the work of enterprises at any time of the day, year. For its part, the Government of the region provides all the necessary support for conducting the exercises,” Governor Igor Rudenya outlined.

Please, be reminded that the large-scale and unprecedented exercises of power engineers from Rosseti Group of Companies started in the Tver region on 22 September with the support of the Government of the region. The exercises involved more than 5,000 employees from 20 branches of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region. Until 22 December of this year, the power engineers will have to clear 6.5 thousand hectares of ROWs along overhead power lines, expand 100% of the main line of ROWs along overhead lines, and also replace 530 km of "bare" wire with self-supporting insulated one (SIW).
