Within the framework of the festival #VmesteYarche young power engineers of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division held an energy saving event for first and second year students of the Smolensk Construction College. During the conversation about the careful attitude to energy resources, the students were able to learn about how in different countries electricity is produced, get acquainted with modern energy-saving technologies, participate in a fascinating thematic quiz.
Having acquainted with the elementary rules of energy saving in everyday life, the students remembered that a smooth white wall reflects 80% of the sun’s rays, and dark wallpapers will give only 15% of the light and the room will seem dark. The discovery for many was the fact that in the standby mode, appliances also consume electricity, and chargers from phones must be removed from the outlet when they are not needed so that electricity bills do not increase.
Representatives of Smolenskenergo in the form of a dialogue tried to inform the students of the college about the contribution that each person can make to energy saving in everyday life and at home. At the end of the event, the young power engineers expressed their hope that after the lesson, the students of the Smolensk Construction College will become supporters of careful attitude to the energy in the house and in the classrooms, and also offered to take part in the action to sign a personal declaration of careful attitude to energy resources.
