IDGC of Centre contributes to the preservation of the historical and architectural heritage of the Kostroma region

20.09.2018

Specialists of the Kostroma branch of IDGC of Centre implemented a project on grid connection of power installations of the architectural monument of the Kostroma region - the Ensemble of Trading Rows (Fish stalls of the 18th-19th centuries, Buildings 1 and 2). Within the framework of the grid connection agreement, the energy company completed the construction of 0.4 kV cable lines.

The complex of commercial buildings of Kostroma, executed in the style of late classicism, later rebuilt, retains an important town-planning significance in the ensemble of the shopping centre buildings and is organically fits it. For some time the architectural monument was in an abandoned state. Since 2010, the Fish stalls belong to the Kostroma Museum-Preserve. Now this building houses the Picture Gallery and art studios for children and adults. For the preservation of museum exhibits, the air temperature in the room must be strictly observed. In this regard, the management of the Museum-Preserve decided to establish here a climate control system that maintains the necessary temperature.

For the installation of this system, two new cable lines were laid, as well as backup power supply sources were set in case of a power failure. The complexity of the work consisted in the fact that the grid connection was conducted in the historical part of the city - all work on laying the lines was conducted after a thorough archaeological study of the soils and under the close supervision of specialists.
