Kostromaenergo takes care of employees’ health

18.09.2018

Medical care of employees is one of the priority areas of the social policy of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division. To maintain the health of the personnel at the enterprise, medical examination of employees is conducted annually.

In accordance with the current collective agreement, the staff is provided with a wide range of social support measures. So, this year under the contract of voluntary medical insurance 53 employees of the branch were able to improve their health in sanatoriums of the Kostroma region and in the central European part of Russia, more than 700 employees of the branch received qualified medical care in medical institutions in Kostroma and the Kostroma region.

For 8 months of 2018, 1,302 employees of Kostromaenergo passed mandatory periodic medical examination. The frequency of the examination and the list of physicians, whose examination is necessary to pass, depends on the harmful and/or hazardous factors in the workplace to which the employee is exposed. For power engineers, these factors are related to work in electrical installations, work at height and outdoors. Preliminary comprehensive medical examination is carried out at employment and change of a kind of works. To improve safety, drivers of Kostromaenergo every morning undergo pre-trip examination of a doctor.

As part of the prevention of catarrhal and epidemiological diseases the power engineers of the Kostroma branch of IDGC of Centre have an opportunity to be vaccinated against influenza, hepatitis, tetanus and diphtheria at the company’s expense. They are conducted in accordance with the vaccination calendar and are voluntary. In early September of this year, the chief doctor of the Kostroma Regional Medical Prevention Centre, Polina Zhelezova, gave a lecture to the branch’s staff about vaccinations before the winter, answered questions, clarified the controversial situation.

"Work of power engineers is associated with high health risks. We value our staff and pay great attention to the prevention of diseases of our employees, maintenance of their health. After all, they should be ready to provide reliable power supply for residents of the region in any weather," stressed Nadezhda Muravieva, the head of the HR office of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division.
