29.08.2018

IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division summed up the intermediate results of the HR policy. For seven months of 2018, 20 graduates of specialized universities and colleges were recruited for permanent employment at Belgorodenergo. The main criterion for selection was education in the electricity industry. Preference was given to applicants, who had their practice at the branch, and participants of students’ construction crews.

198 students were trained in the structural units of the branch for the past period. Fifteen people tried their strength as part of the students’ construction crew. For future power engineers this is the best way to consolidate theoretical knowledge in the production process.

According to the head of the HR department Tatiana Tatukova, more than 200 students of universities and colleges master the basics of the future profession at Belgorodenergo every year, over 50 young specialists passed through the construction crews of the power grid complex in five years. This year, as part of the construction crew for the first time there were students of Novooskolsky College. The guys worked in remote districts from the regional centre under the guidance of mentors from Novooskolsky and Krasnogvardeysky Distribution Zones.

"We are ready to accept students for internships, and in the future also to work, since for successful work it is necessary to master the profession in stages, starting with an electrician. Today, innovations come to the energy sector, so staff must constantly improve their knowledge so that they can successfully apply it in their work. The real engineer must learn all the components of the production process with personal experience," Tatiana Tatukova explained.

With a number of educational institutions, including BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, Belgorod Industrial College, Valuisky Industrial College, the branch signed agreements on mutual cooperation, providing training for specialists who meet the needs of the electric grid complex, implementing programs for retraining and upgrading the skills of workers, sending students to industrial and pre-diploma practice, participation of representatives of Belgorodenergo in the work of state examination boards and final certification.

Since the beginning of 2018, 11 employees of the branch have received new knowledge and skills in various programs of professional retraining in specialized universities. The priority is training in programs to improve the reliability of 0.4-10 kV distribution grids, operate power and measuring transformers, diagnose electrical equipment and make repair schedules, taking into account its technical condition, automatic control of voltage and reactive power in electric grids, and upgrade skills of masters. Since last year, the company has been implementing new targeted programs for training reservists for leadership positions in Distribution Zones. In June, 35 employees of the branch passed the first stage of training for the position of the chief of the Distribution Zone.

Every year the general level of education of Belgorodenergo’s employees grows up. This meets the challenges of the time associated with large-scale tasks to create a fundamentally new digital grid within the state program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation". In the current year, already 15 people have raised their education to a higher professional level. As a whole, 2,179 employees of Belgorodenergo have higher professional education, which is 54.20% of the total number of employees. Thus, a graduate of a university or college who comes to work at Belgorodenergo should understand that for promoting through the career ladder he will have to study throughout his length of work, since the main goal of the branch’s HR policy is to train high-level specialists whose knowledge and skills meet modern requirements of the industry.
