In Yaroslavl, the final stage of the large-scale project "Territory of safety" was held. The final chord of the action was at the sanatorium-dispensary "Sosnovy Bor", which is in Gavrilov-Yamsky district. Participants of the event were about 250 children from Yaroslavl, Vologda and Cherepovets. This year, within the framework of the action, employees of IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division conducted a series of master classes in six children’s camps of Yaroslavl and the region. More than two thousand children got necessary skills of behaviour near power facilities and the capability to provide first aid.
By tradition, the start of the events was given by members of the special purpose detachment "Thunder" by arranging a demonstrative performance with the capture of an alleged criminal, and also showing the impeccable training of a professional dog named Gaya. "Territory of safety" has been in place already for 4 years. To implement this project, specialists from various departments and services were collected, each of which prepared thematic lessons. All participants of the action were able to get acquainted with the activities of the services from within, learn how to behave correctly in the event of emergency situations.
Employees of departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Yaroslavl region prepared thematic sites aimed at preventing juvenile delinquency and promoting healthy lifestyles. Specialists of the State Traffic Inspectorate analyzed road situations with children, reminded the importance of road signs and marking, rules for the use of retroreflective elements. The children were shown special means of protection, used in the work of police by patrol officers. A lesson was also conducted by specialists of the Drug Control Department during which they explained the adverse health consequences from the consumption of narcotic substances and alcohol.
The specialists of "Yarenergo" prepared their own thematic lesson - they explained to the children what danger electricity has for unprepared people. They talked about the meaning of various prohibitory signs installed on power facilities, as well as the rules for the use of electrical appliances in everyday life. They reminded the guys that games near power lines or transformer substations can be deadly. During the lesson, the guys were able to try on the equipment of electricians: a helmet, dielectric gloves and special boots. And they also mastered the skills of providing first aid in various situations, having worked them out on the dummy-simulator Gosha.
IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division, being a socially focused company, understands the importance and necessity of educating the younger generation and holding similar events, and therefore the lessons on electrical safety have become one of the components of the large-scale program of the power engineers for the prevention of children’s and third-party electric injuries, which gains momentum with every year.
