Students of construction crews "Energet" and "Phoenix" in summer took more than 5.5 thousand readings of consumers’ electricity meters

Students from the construction crews "Energet" of a branch of the National Research University "MPEI" in the city of Smolensk and "Phoenix", consisting of students from various secondary specialized educational institutions of the region, worked for a month and a half in various subdivisions of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division. 15 students of "Energet" and 10 students of "Phoenix" as part of crews of power engineers of different Distribution Zones during this period took an active part in the raid work to take readings of electricity meters.

The construction crew members were admitted to the work after preliminary training and briefings. As a result, together with the power engineers, the students took about 5,550 readings of electricity meters from household consumers and 125 readings from legal and equivalent entities.

The main task of the construction crew members was to collect reliable information on the volumes of electricity consumption in these districts. For this purpose, the reconciliation of the readings of the electricity meters of consumers was carried out in order to compare the volumes of electricity delivered and paid by the consumer. This will help the branch not only authentically generate volumes of net supply of electric energy to consumers, but also to carry out measures to reduce the level of losses. In addition, the raid work helps identify faulty meters and illegal electricity consumption.

This work has been carried out for the third consecutive year.
