IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division completed the fifth season of students’ construction crews. The closing ceremony took place on the basis of Smolensk City Distribution Zone of the branch. Heads of the branch and the specialized university, representatives of the trade union, chairmen of the council of veterans and the youth council of the branch, mentors of construction crew workers took part in it. They thanked the students for their responsibility in performing the work, observance of safety rules and discipline. All the speakers noted the importance of the construction crew movement not only in dealing with personnel issues, but also in organizing temporary employment for young people and acquiring professional skills.
This year two construction crews worked at Smolenskenergo’s facilities at the same time: 31 students of the National Research University "MPEI", as well as 20 students of relative specialties of secondary vocational schools in the Smolensk region. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, the construction crew workers carried out work on the restoration and construction of new 6 kV cable lines, worked with technical documentation, participated in routine diagnostics of electrical equipment after major repairs and fulfilled requests for additional services of the electricity metering department. In addition, a group of students was involved in taking readings of meters of residential customers and legal entities.
The work was carried out in the service area of Smolensky, Smolensk City, Pochinkovsky, Safonovsky Distribution Zones.
The construction crew students learned a lot during this month and a half, and the support of experienced power engineers helped them quickly get to work. "We have an excellent team in the construction crew, in which it was a pleasure to work. The construction crew gave me not only new theoretical and practical knowledge, which will be useful both in study and work, but also many acquaintances with professionals in their field, who can always be asked to advise in the future," commented a representative of the construction crew "Energet" Evgeniy Dyablin, who for the second consecutive year has worked at power facilities of the region. In the future, the construction crew workers want to come to work at the branch.
In addition to daily work at power facilities, the construction crew workers took part in corporate events of the branch and participated in conducting electrical safety events for children who are resting in summer camps.
