Employees of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division pass the standards of Ready for labour and defense (GTO) of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Set "Ready for Labour and Defense". Its first stage was held on the basis of Sports School № 5 of the city of Kostroma, where 10 employees of the enterprise took the opportunity to pass the GTO standards. Professional judges of the testing centre - teachers of the sports school - assessed the correctness of the tasks performance.
To pass the GTO standards in their age level, the participants underwent mandatory tests and checks of choice. Among the mandatory for women was running for a distance of 2 km, push-ups, exercises for flexibility; for men - running for 3 km, pull-ups or snatching a 16 kg dumbbell, exercises for flexibility. Also, the standards included running for a distance of 30 metres, a long jump from the seat and press exercises.
Following the results of the first stage the power engineers of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division showed excellent results - more than half of the participants became applicants for gold badges of distinction. At the end of August, they will have the second stage of passing the standards for swimming, shooting, etc. After that, the results of Kostromaenergo’s employees will be posted on the GTO’s official website, and the central commission of the physical culture and sports set will decide on awarding them with insignia.
It is worth noting that for Kostroma power engineers passing the GTO standards becomes a good tradition. Last year 17 employees of Kostromaenergo showed initiative in passing the standards, 16 of them were awarded gold badges of distinction, one - silver. The athletes received their awards at a solemn event on the Power Engineers’ Day.
