Representatives of Kostromaenergo took part in the solemn opening ceremony of the memorial sign in memory of the outstanding compatriot Fedor Chizhov

On the Day of the city and the 74th anniversary of the formation of the Kostroma region, a memorial plate in memory of the outstanding compatriot - Fedor Chizhov was opened in Kostroma. The industrialist, philanthropist, public figure, scholar, art critic, publisher Fedor V. Chizhov made a huge contribution to the professional training of personnel in the energy sector, as well as to the development of Kostroma and the Kostroma province.

Residents of the city took part in the solemn ceremony of the opening of the memorial sign to F.V. Chizhov. It is them who decided that the new memorial sign should be dedicated to Fedor Chizhov. The poll was held this spring. Students and teachers, graduates of the energy technical school - the educational institution bears the name of this famous countryman actively participated in the Internet voting. In the voting they were supported by workers and veterans of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division.

"Fedor V. Chizhov for us, power engineers, is a very significant personality! He stood at the source of the personnel training system for the Kostroma power industry - bequeathed his entire capital (6 million gold rubles) to the Kostroma province to construct technical schools. The vocational school, which bears the name of Fedor Chizhov, trains qualified personnel for the energy sector of the region, most of them work at Kostromaenergo. In addition, we have been fruitfully cooperating with this educational institution for many years: annually more than 800 specialists upgrade their qualifications on the basis of the Multifunctional Centre, professional skill competitions are held at the training centre. The Youth Council of Kostromaenergo takes part in the Career Day and other social events held by the technical school. In turn, during the year, we receive students from Kostroma Energy College at the museum, conduct tours for them at the city’s substations," stressed Nadezhda Muravyeva, the head of the HR department, at the solemn event.
